Preziosa Young Design Competition 2010

Le Arti Orafe is glad to announces PREZIOSA YOUNG 2010. The third edition of this important exhibition of young goldsmith/artists selected for their individual research and for the originality of their creations will presented in Firenze, as a “collateral” exhibition to the fifth edition of PREZIOSA 2010. The aims of PREZIOSA YOUNG is to contribute to the diffusion of what is new in the research jewellery, what the new generation of goldsmiths/designers/artists have “boiling in the pot”…

The exhibition opens on May 21st. To take part to the artists’ conferences on May 22nd, the day after the opening, interested people must register on-line, because places are limited.

The deadline for application has passed for 2010

The exhibition does not have a predetermined theme but the works put forward must be outstanding in terms of research into form and technique and display continuity and coherence in that research. The items of jewellery may be created in any material and the designers and artists involved must attach a personal statement to the application form.

Participants
Worldwide goldsmiths, designers, artists, may submit their candidature, provided that they are not older than 35 years at the end of 2010. The application must arrive by regular mail on 28th February 2010, at latest.

Candidates must send to the school’s address a CD with:
- Application form
- Five images of their works
- Detailed description of the pieces (material, technique, size……)

IMAGES
Each image must be send in two format:
at 300 DPI resolution, in “TIF” format
and at 150 DPI, in “JPG” format 
Image’s size: cm 20x15 at least

Selection of participants
The jury will announce the results of the selection by end of March 2010.
Selected artists will send their jewels, following the instructions they will receive.
Each participant must present 5 pieces for the exhibition.

NOTE: The shipping costs for the selected pieces must be paid by the submitter. It is up to you to decide whether to insure and/or send your entry by registered mail.
For entries from non-EU countries We will not accept any shipments for the receipt or return of which customs, taxes or other charges must be paid. To send entries customs-free from non-EU countries, please use a Carnet A.T.A., which you can obtain from the Chamber of Commerce in your country. Please note that it may take some time for the Chamber of Commerce to issue this Carnet A.T.A.
All the pieces will be insured by the organization during the stay in Italy.
