Claude Schmitz and Kayo Saito

On the occasion of the Vienna International Festival Galerie Slavik presents an exhibition of a very special kind.

Claude Schmitz and Kayo Saito, both graduates of the Royal College of Art in London, put their latest creations on show.

While Kayo Saito, a Japanese-born artist, transforms softly translucent bands and a rich abundance of flower petals into necklaces and earrings, Claude Schmitz gives preference to a lucid, reduced formal idiom. The young artist from Luxembourg has chosen the archetypal circle as the basis for his "rolling rings" or his "bracelet 3 discs", three discs of matt-finished gold nuzzling around the wearer‚s wrist.
