2014 Amber in conceptual jewelry, Gallery Putti, Riga, Latvia | Statement | My creations are inspired by thoughts on the relationship between man and nature in all its expressive possibilities: colours evoking feelings and thoughts, sounds, the life cycle from birth to death, mysteries and secrets concealed by nature. Movements, forms, lightness and colours in harmony with each other are important in each work.
I like to awaken the senses and the mind, to conjure feelings, and destroy the superficiality and individualism prevailing in modern life. My works are there for to look at, to experience, to make you think and to share.
“Herb’s garden” are meant to recall concepts of the circle of life by giving new life to dead natural elements. Therefore death has become a taboo in today’s life but it is also part of it, so I’m not only interested in the bright side, but also the dark side of what nature englobes.
Precision hides behind what seems to be disorder, leading to a harmonic overall picture.
Hiding innumerable possible representations, colors and forms merge into a whole.

Education:
1987-91 apprenticeship as Goldsmith in Germany
She obtained in 1991 the professional qualification as goldsmith with final examination from “Gold- und Silberschmiedeinnung” (Handwerkskammer) at Munich. Further education at DDI (German Diamond Institute) for precious gems.
In 1992/93 she obtained the diploma of the first and second graduation for the Italian language at the “Unversità per stranieri” Perugia.
1994-2000 she worked in two different workshops in Italy also for short periods in Germany.
2007 workshop with Lauscha and Moretti glass in Germany.
2008 further education about colours and pigments “powder coating” by DuPont in Italy.

For sure, we are much more influenced than many years ago because the media is much more diffused. In a very short time we are able to see different trends from many countries. You can see a lot of similar pieces. But I think it’s impossible that jewelry is being standardized, if you are working with a concept and your own mind. In this sense, art jewelry can never become standardized, like instead traditional jewelry has the tendency to become.
