Andrea Wagner
Born in Germany, grew up in Canada (near Montreal) for 12 years; economic training and working years in Germany (Freiburg and Berlin); living in Amsterdam since 1994; jewelry studies at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy Amsterdam.
Since her graduation in 1997 she has been based in Amsterdam with her own studio, participating regularly in national and international exhibitions (including several times in SCHMUCK Munich and the SOFA Art Fairs/USA as well as COLLECT 2008 in London). Her work is included in different national as well as international public and private collections.
Other activities:
training of intern students, lectures, occasional teaching experiences; 3.5 months artist-in-residency at the European Ceramic Work Centre in Den Bosch (NL); 2 months residency planned in the Jewellery Studio Jakob Bengal Foundation Idar-Oberstein (GER).
Wagner is curator and organizer of the touring group exhibition GOLDEN CLOGS, DUTCH MOUNTAINS to seven venues in the US and Canada during 2007 and 2008. Received three prestigious stipends from the Netherlands Foundation for Visual Arts, Design and Architecture (1998, 2000, 2003) and several project financings through the National Mondriaan Foundation and Dutch Consulates abroad (2002/07/08).
