Statement

Collection “Throw away gold”
Over the past decades, the human population has had a profound impact on our ecosystem and in some cases has completely depleted natural resources. Our greed and eagerness to possess, and consume has led us to a point where we can no longer clearly distinguish what is precious and what is not.

We dispose, in an instant something which is beautiful without a second thought,. To me, the disposable Nespresso coffee capsules ARE beautiful.

This collection of jewellery does not identify with one country or a continent, but rather relates to a social group within human society - High-end consumers of the western developed world.
It is about a specific point of time within the human cultural development…how far have we climbed?

I compare coffee to gold. Gold is considered to be the most precious, sought and fought after commodity, bought as an investment or security for the future. What about coffee, is it the same?

Gold is a commodity,
Coffee is a commodity
Gold is coffee - coffee is gold;
Used coffee capsules become a golden necklace,
It is a fair trade, trading one for the other.

Collection “Sexuality”
For several years I have been interested in the male and the female aspects around us, its union, differences, the expression of sexuality and the social position it is given in the modern society. I see the male and female as two opposing and simultaneously attracting sides. Despite the differences there is always a magnetic tension and strive for a unity. I have transposed my obsession into the material world by choosing silk/pearls to represent FEMALE aspect and steel/iron to represent MALE aspect. By joining them together achieved a seamless transition, which flows smoothly from one material into the other. Thus creating an ambiguous symbiosis. The meeting point is neither one nor the other, but an individual new essence, which could be identified within the human world as the ambiguous group which we call "the intersex" or a "third gender".

When wearing my jewellery I want the wearer to experience his/her opposing feminine or masculine side.

Some questions which I tried to find an answers to….
Why do we comply with the prevailing norms of the sexual dualism in our society? What is the ultimate origin of what we call normal and abnormal.
Who decides what is strictly male and what remains female?
