Statement
My body is my home, and my body is connected to nature. My jewelry pieces are an expression of my experiences with internal and external environments. I earnestly use my five senses toconnection to nature. I am fascinated by the mysteries and wonders of life and nature, and how matter changes in different circumstances.
Substances in and outside of the body consist of solid, fluid, and something in between. Also, these substances transform as solid becomes fluid, and fluid becomesgas. With time, matter changes its color, pattern, shape/ form, and substance. A macro view in an external environment links to the micro view inside our own bodies, including cell activity. By examining an internal environment, I focus my observations on several layers of personal femininity, including the physical, emotional, and psychological qualities of being a woman. The different layers of complex feminine experiences interact in various degrees. There is a part of the work that explores notions how human life is vigorous and adaptable to natural environment and one’s own circumstances.
My art also explores the relationship between materials and human beings. I follow artistic instinct when choosing my materials for jewelry pieces, and consider how the material reflects my experiences and connects me to them. My observation with experiences and senses becomes my jewelry pieces. Universal emotions, five-senses, and even personal experiences can be shared by wearing my jewelry pieces, and the wearer can be reconnected to nature.
