 | The Everyday and the Far Away Bettina Speckner Munich: Bettina Speckner, 2006 Technical data: 66 pp, full colour ISBN/ISSN: 3-924494-36-3 Out of print |
Texts by Kadri Mälk and Rüdiger Joppien.
Catalogue of the exhibition tour of Bettina Speckner that will take place between March 2006 and March 2007 in Europe and the U.S.
Made in collaboration and support of Galerie spektrum, Gallery Sienna and Galerie ra (among others). About her work, Bettina Speckner says: "I never work with the intention to decorate things or to make them look pret-tier. I try to discover the soul of an object or the es-sence of a photograph and want to shape something new which appeals to me and to other people far beyond the optical appearance."
"Bettina Speckner is a narrator of great sensibility, who patiently fashions her objects until she gently finds the place on the stage of life"(Dr Rüdiger Joppien).

Bettina Speckner: Jewellery
The conscious and the spontaneous in Bettina's work are amazingly well balanced. But this balance is accompanied by a fundamental vagueness which is hard to describe, resulting in a distanced, in places, out-of-focus reflection of everyday images that the artist once experienced and considered to be significant.
