Statement
Contemporary Jewelry is to me an excellent media such as painting, drawing or sculpting are. It is an art form. When I am working I engage in a process. I chose to work with a minimum of tools: most of my work has been done using my bare hands: molding and painting the pieces.  I create for the body and with my body, so I let traces of my moves appear in the pieces.

Mirla Fernandes, são paulo, 1969 Background Graduated in Biochemistry (Universidade de São Paulo, 1991) and in Fine Arts (Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado, 1998), attended jewellery design at the Hochschule für Gestaltung und Technik Pforzheim, Germany as a guest student between 1999 and 2000. Develops experiemental jewellery collections and also works as freelance graphic designer.
